Paychex + FleetWage
The only direct integration — auto-syncs employees, pay rates, and payroll between FleetWage and Paychex. No CSV files, no double data entry.
Overview
Paychex is FleetWage's most comprehensive integration. Unlike other payroll providers that use CSV exports, Paychex syncs data automatically. Employee information, pay rates, and payroll data flow directly between FleetWage and Paychex without manual file uploads. FleetWage is listed on the Paychex Marketplace, and the integration supports showing stop and package counts on driver paystubs.
Most fleet payroll software stops at the CSV. FleetWage's Paychex integration goes further: a true API connection that keeps employee records, pay rates, and termination status in sync between the two systems automatically. When you onboard a new driver in Paychex, they appear in FleetWage. When you terminate a driver in FleetWage, Paychex knows. You stop the cycle of two systems drifting apart whenever someone forgets to update the other.
Because Paychex handles the tax filing, year-end forms, and benefits administration, FleetWage can focus entirely on what FedEx ISP fleets actually need: per-stop pay, package incentives, sixth-day and holiday rules, fuel deductions, and route profitability. The result is a single weekly workflow where FleetWage does the calculation and Paychex does the payment, without anyone having to reconcile a spreadsheet by hand.
FleetWage is listed on the Paychex Marketplace, which makes it easy for any Paychex customer to discover, install, and connect the integration in minutes. The Marketplace listing also means Paychex's own support team can verify the integration is configured correctly if you ever need help.

Why Paychex Matters for FedEx ISP Contractors
FedEx ISP payroll has more moving parts than almost any other small-business payroll category: stop counts, package counts, route premiums, sixth-day pay, attendance bonuses, fuel cost deductions, uniform deductions, garnishments, and child-support orders. Most ISP owners have been running this in a spreadsheet for years, and a single typo can cost a driver $200 — or cost the business $200 if it goes the other way. The Paychex direct integration removes the spreadsheet entirely. Pay items are calculated in FleetWage from FedEx settlement and time card data, then synced to Paychex for paycheck issuance. Stop and package counts can be configured to appear on the paystub itself as informational items, which dramatically reduces driver questions on payday — drivers can see exactly how many stops they were paid for and at what rate.

Common Use Cases
How FedEx ISP contractors use FleetWage with Paychex every week.
Fleets growing past 20 drivers
Once a fleet crosses 20 drivers, manual payroll in a spreadsheet becomes a real risk. The Paychex direct integration scales without adding admin time — whether you have 15 drivers or 150, the workflow is the same.
Owners who want stop/package counts on paystubs
Adding stops and packages as informational items on the paystub eliminates the most common driver question ("how did you calculate this?") and builds trust without requiring a separate driver-facing report.
ISPs that need clean year-end reporting
Paychex generates W-2s, 1099s, and tax filings automatically. FleetWage feeds Paychex clean year-round data, so December is just another payroll close — not a frantic cleanup project.
Multi-state operators
If your CSAs span state lines, Paychex handles multi-state tax registration, withholding, and reporting. FleetWage handles the per-state pay rules. The two together remove almost all of the back-office friction of expanding into a new state.
Best Practices & Tips
Advice from FedEx ISP contractors who use FleetWage with Paychex.
- Add Stops and Packages as informational pay items in Paychex (Company Settings → Pay Items → Informational tab) before your first synced payroll. Drivers love seeing this on the paystub, and it cuts payroll questions by half.
- Make Paychex the system of record for personal info (address, tax forms, direct deposit) and FleetWage the system of record for pay rates and route assignments. Don't try to maintain both — pick one source per data type and stick to it.
- Wait the full five minutes after the initial sync before processing your first payroll. Trying to run payroll while employees are still syncing is the most common avoidable error during onboarding.
- If you see an "Hourly Pay Items Not Found" error, fix it in Paychex (Company Settings → Pay Items → Earnings → add Regular/Hourly with Start Date = day before payroll date). Don't try to work around it in FleetWage.
- When you terminate a driver, do it in FleetWage — the termination syncs to Paychex automatically. Doing it in Paychex first creates a temporary mismatch that has to be resolved manually.
